The Best of Big D

It’s that time of year once again! That’s right; it’s time to vote for your favorite stylist in D Magazine’s annual “Best of the Big D!

Only the top businesses in Dallas are nominated for these awards and with years of styling and experience in some of the top fashion houses of the world, I’m very honored to be among them. This year, The Bobbi Schwartz Group is featured as one of the best Closet Organizers in Dallas and we are thrilled to be recognized for the work that we do.

I would be deeply appreciated if you would take a moment out of your day to cast your vote for The Bobbi Schwartz Group. In fact, you can vote every day up until June 2. All you have to do is click here and “Vote for Me!”. Once on the D Magazine site, skip to page 4, question 23. Click on the “The Bobbi Schwartz Group” (the button will turn red), then skip to page 6 and hit the “submit your ballot” button. That’s all there is to it! As always, we thank you for your generous support.

Warmest Always,
Bobbi

Shopping in Dallas

Among the many things to do in Dallas, the two most popular ones are shopping and dining!! Luckily, there are two locations where you can do both of these lesiurely activities.

Highland Park Village

Highland Park Village is the Rodeo Drive of Texas. The old world chic paired with the incredible designers is heart stopping. It was built in 1931 for Dallas' wealthy citizens to have a place to shop at and was built by Wilbur David Cook who was the architect for Beverly Hills in California. Many fashion houses such as Chanel, Hermes, and Ralph Lauren reside in the Village. The number one Mexican food watering hole, Mi Cocina in Dallas is located here as well.

Northpark Center

The Northpark Mall is a luxury shopping center that has been named one of the "7 retail wonders of the world" by Shopping Centers Today. The mall has designer boutiques such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Bottega, Valentino, and the largest Neiman Marcus in the nation!! Not only does it have unbelievable shopping but it also displays internationally known works or art and architecture. There are plenty of food options to choose from contemporary dining to gourmet food to go.

How to Get Out of a Car Like a Lady

Ever wonder how to appropriately get out of a car when wearing a dress or skirt without exposing yourself for all to see?! First things first, ALWAYS keep your knees together and turn them away from the car door while bringing up both feet. Secondly, slide your feet out of the car and lower onto the street. Thirdly, shift your body forward to follow your feet out of the car and stand.

Ladies, let's save ourselves some embarrassment and take a hint from Jacqueline Kennedy as she has perfected getting out of a car with dignity and grace!!

Designer Spotlight: Ralph Lauren

We are absolutely possessed by Ralph and all that he does. We decided to dedicate a post that was ALL about him and why we love his work so much!!

Ralph Lauren started his fashion career out with a line of neck ties and selling them at Bloomingdales under the brand, Polo. Later, he designed a line of women's suits that were inspired from men's classic suit style. Following the women's suits was a cotton short-sleeve shirt that came in 24 different color choices. After all the recognized success of his designs, Ralph decided to open up a few boutiques across the United States and abroad. The rest is history after that.

We love Ralph Lauren because of the quality of materials and goods he uses in his pieces, which really will last a lifetime. Ralph literally designs classic timeless peices that will last us our entire life and can be used daily. His knack for having such luxurious quality and materials is what really sets him apart from other designers and his consumer base feels safe investing in his pieces. Furthermore, he has a home decor line which is fabulous!! Who doesn't want to come home to luxurious decor that is crafted with the utmost of qulity. He truly is one of a kind in the fashion industry. Ralph is the man!!!

We have included some examples of timeless peices that we love:

1. Classic white t-shirt. You can pair a white t-shirt with almost anything to dress up or dress down any outfit. A white t-shirt is definitely an essential for everyone's wardrobe.

2. We love the women's suits he designs.

3. This skirt suit is so chic and adds a feminine touch.

Shoes for Spring

We came across these stellar shoes during one of our shopping adventures and just had to share them with you. The first pair we saw were Christian Louboutin ankle strap flats, they come in black and tan. You can pair these with a summer dress or with cuffed, or cropped, skinny jeans. The second pair we saw were Christian Louboutin spiked smoking slippers, also come in black and nude. They give just the right amount of edge to any outfit or occassion. We are seeing spikes on everything this season so what a great way to add this trend into your wardrobe. The last pair we saw were Manolo Blahnik flat thongs. The Manolo's are easy to throw on to run errands or can be used to dress up an outfit. You simply can not go wrong with a pair of black flat thongs.
